Last Saturday saw a bunch of us cozily cooped up in the boardroom of the Inch Community Sports Club, reminiscing about things that were (a golf course along the Inch Nursery fences, and Sandy's house under the hill), things that never came to be (the tram works!), and things that we would like - scribbled in a dozen handwritings over a hand-drawn 1:1000 map of the park.
And although attendance was modest, we were delighted to see some people none of us knew come along and join the Friends group. A big thank you to all who made the effort! As a result of the productive afternoon, the wish list for the park acquired a few interesting items, from paths (expected) to a less expected Gunnera manicata plantation to suck up the water running off into the gap between the playing field and the steep bank by the Sports Club. The map will now be displayed at the Inch Community Centre, with a box for additional ideas and suggestions. Please feel free to come and add yours, but hurry - we'll wrap the design up at the start of April.
